LIVE LAUGH & LOVE
if she can, i can

if she can, i can

Okay, so I made it to day 9 pretty comfortably! However although I was seeing results (3.4kgs worth of results) I wasn’t happy about the nutritional value of the diet. As well, my muscles were always feeling fatigued and therefore my exercise regime (boot camp) was probably suffering as I couldn’t give it all that I wanted to. Therefore I decided that I would take the healthy balanced diet and regular exercise regimen to lose weight…summer is over and I am in no major hurry…losing 10 kgs over a year-ish is okay by me!

Day 5; did I put on weight? Yes I did!!!

This mornings weigh in…1kg up on yesterday! 1Kg! I wonder if it was my body adjusting and responding to the introduction of vegetables for my first P&V day and my lack of exercise the previous day. Oh well, never to mind…I am still less than when I began.

Today we had a leaving party at work for my bestie! There was a lot of cake! I had already decided that because it was a special occasion I would allow myself 1 small piece of something. Cheesecake it was….protien-ish. haha And I am so proud of myself because that is all I had! Woo hoo! Self control exists!

Day 4

Just a super quick update. Survived the first day of Dukan at work and never felt hungry! Woo hoo! Loved getting some veggies into me!!! Ate dinner pretty late because I had to cook the chicken drumsticks when I got home, so definitely need to be more prepared with that! Back to work tomorrow :(

My tummy is grumbly…dinner too close to bedtime!

Day 3

Day 3: Much the same as yesterday to be honest! Early rise to attend boot camp then had the rest of the day free. Still feeling good. Tomorrow will be hard as it will be the first day of Dukan-ing at work. But YAY beacuse its a protein and vegetable day!!!

Food/Drink:

1/2 c yoghurt, cheese omlette, chicken and cottage cheese omlette, 3 x coke zero (whoops), 3 x chicken drumsticks with yoghurt and cottage cheese dipping sauce, frozen yoghurt

easily 1.5L H20

Exercise:

45 mins boot camp- nearly killed me, though am absolutely loving being back! Weird doing it in the dark now since we are heading towards winter! Plan to keep doing it though…through the rain and the cold!

Weight: 64.9kgs

Total weight loss: 2.1kgs (whoop whoop!!)

Dukan Day 1 & 2

Day 1: A great deal easier than I expected….helped out by the fact that I was post night shift and so slept most of the day! Was very proud of the fact however that I didn’t eat ANYTHING after midnight while I was work. Thats a first ever!! I only had one coffee…mainly to keep me warm because it was freezing and I had forgotten to bring a jersey with me!

Naughty naught though, I forgot all about my 1.5tsp (or is it TBSP? better look that up now!) of oat bran, and I don’t think I quite met my required fluid volume intake!

Ate/Drank:

coffee, 2 scrambled eggs, 1/2 c yoghurt x 2, 3 chicken drumsticks with yoghurt dipping sauce, homemade frozen yoghurt.

Exercise:

Half hour walk

Day 2:

Got through the day surprisingly well, though maybe should have had a bit more to eat…never really felt hungry though until dinner time. Probably because of the big brekkie and early morning exercise!

Ate/drank:

coffee, 2 poached eggs with bacon, 1/2 c yoghurt x 2, lite cottage cheese (1.5 Tbsp), coke zero, 3 chicken drumsticks (skin removed) with yoghurt and cottage cheese dipping sauce.

Easily 1.5 L water

Exercise:

45 minutes bootcamp

Starting weight: 67kgs (it was 66, but then I went on holiday…)

Day 2 Weight: 65.3

Total: -ve 1.7kgs

Back to civilisation and I am loving it!

Hiking was good. But hard! There were good days and bad days. Days when I felt strong and days when ‘one foot in front of the other’ was the hardest thing EVER! But I did it! And as much as I say I would never do it again, I  probably will! What got me through the hard times/days was thinking to myself that with each step I took I was getting stronger..physically and mentally..and I was taking another step towards one of my 2012 goals. Now that I am back to real life, I will use the memories of the hike, how difficult it was at times and I still managed it to get me through my workouts!
